About Me
I am a Sculptor and a Painter. I am highly diverse in many Art fields from Portraits, Murals, Ceramics, Figurative and Wildlife, also Bronze and Public Art . I chose to Sculpt the less Familiar Animals. The ones who have a strange beauty about them like a large Fruit bat or an Octopus. These are the ones I am drawn to. I also have a tendency to be drawn to the solitary ones also. Maybe it is because the majority of an Artist’s life is spent alone in the studio working. In recent years I have been trying to bring more awareness through my Animal Sculptures for the Endangered Animals. I believe one’s talents has an Artist should be used to try and make a difference in the world. I research a lot before doing a certain Animal, so that I get to know the gestures, movement, strength of the Animal, so that I can convey these things along with parts of my own personality. If done right, the Animal might look as though it could walk off the pedestal or move if you watch it long enough. I enjoy the research just as much as the sculpting part. I hope that my work as a sculptor will same day make a small bit of difference, so that we will never lose certain Animals forever. In my Figurative work I have been bringing awareness to human plights like Cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Having a Mom with this disease, I have always wanted to try and make a difference with my Art. This year gearing up to do a solo show on Alzheimer's disease " Within The Mind" in Nashville at the Tennessee Art League Gallery. I want to show the loss of self through the loss of one's memories.... in Sculptures and paintings for the show. I will be working all summer on this important work............ Cindy: I think you are a multi-talented artist and I so admire your work. Your sculpture and mural work are amazing, but then all of your work is great.
